4:00 PM The Soapboxers

Producer / Director, Bert Shapiro

Filmed at the historic Hyde Park "Speakers Corner" in London, this film is a tour of serious odd-ball characters jumping up and down on their soap-boxes with their unique Londoner's humor as they threaten, cajole and entreat us to mend our ways.  The film includes a rare interview with Lord Soper at 93.  Donald Soper's international reputation as a dedicated evangelical speaker included a "soap-box" ministry every Sunday in park.  Mr. Shapiro’s latest film debut!

“Bored of the Rings” won Best Comedic Short at the F4 Film Festival and the Platinum Award for Best Comedy Short at Worldfest Houston, 2004.

5:00 PM Almost Gone

Producers / Directors, Marc Reed and Richard Behrens

December 31st, 2003 was the official final day for the historic Bethlehem Steel Corporation.  At midnight that night the one-time titan-of-industry would dissolve – its final shares of stock being absorbed by International Steel Group for a penny per share.  This film documents the abandoned ruins of the Bethlehem Steel plant in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Photographer Marc Reed’s photography earned him two First Place awards in The 2005/2006 South Bethlehem Photography Competition in Bethlehem.  He collaborated with Richard Behrens of Garden Bay Films, Lambertville, NJ, to turn his photography into a video documentary.
